Ergonomic Barcelona Style Chair
20 years ago, Robert started prototyping his ergonomic rocking chair. In 2009 Bragg earned his U.S. patent for this ergonomic rocking chair. In 2025, Bragg designed his new ergonomic Barcelona style chair which also includes the patented flexible lumbar structural features.

“In 2020, I lost my best friend – my father, the greatest musician I know,” Bragg says. “I wanted to find a way to honor him and my brother, whose musical influence greatly impacted me. So, I started prototyping a music stand design, which I’m very excited about.

In the past 40 years, Robert has continued to feed his passion for creative woodworking, converting carefully selected hardwoods into ergonomically engineered, functional art. Based on his background and education, Robert has focused his efforts around designing and building handcrafted hardwood rocking chairs to enhance sitting comfort. He has received two patents on his unique ergonomic wooden furniture designs and crafted numerous other fine pieces of furniture.

In August 2020, Robert's patented, ergonomic rocking chair was nominated as a finalist in the Made in NC Awards. The statewide contest showcases North Carolina's best creators and crafters, judged on quality, creativity, and innovation. 2020 winners were featured in the February 2021 edition of Our State Magazine.
